The spirit of Judo has returned to Bakersfield! After nearly a decade of absence, we are the powerful resurgence of a martial arts legacy that runs deep in the Southern San Joaquin Valley.
Did you know Bakersfield was a pioneer? Beginning in 1934 at the Bakersfield Buddhist Church, we were the third city in California to offer organized Judo, making us a birthplace for Japanese-American martial arts in the Valley—following only San Francisco and Los Angeles.

We are a collective built from the hearts of Bakersfield Judo, South Valley Judo, Doryoku, Camarillo, Gerifalte, Kern Judo and beyond—bringing together instructors and students under one roof. Our club is more than a training center; it is a labor of love designed to ensure our community’s vibrant judo legacy continues to thrive for generations to come.
